How did you get my data?

We collect consumer data in two main ways—always with clear notice and with your consent.

1. Through e-commerce checkout forms

Since 2006, our shopping cart validation widget has been active on over 17,000 e-commerce websites. During checkout, when you enter your name, email, phone number, or other details, our widget verifies the formatting of that information.

Importantly, at the point of entry, we display a clear notice explaining that your data may be used for marketing purposes. You’re given a choice—typically through checkboxes—to agree to share your information with the website and separately with Media One, LLC and its affiliates.

  • If you don’t check the box for Media One, we don’t collect your data.

  • If you do check both boxes, that’s your explicit permission for us to include your information in our marketing database.

2. Through mobile apps with location services

We also work with mobile apps that use lightweight SDKs (software tools) to collect location data. These apps require your active consent:

  • First, by agreeing to the app’s Terms & Conditions when downloading it.

  • Then, by granting explicit location access ("Always" or "While Using") on your device.

If you give permission, we link your device’s Mobile Advertiser ID (MAID) with your movement data. We only keep this data if it matches an identity in our opt-in consumer database and we have verified consent for both the identity and the movement data.

3. Anchored in real property records

To ensure data accuracy, we cross-reference our records with verified property data collected at the county (or parish) level nationwide. This allows us to connect identity and behavior to real-world locations.

To sum it up:
We only collect and use your data when you've clearly opted in, either during a website checkout or through mobile app permissions. If you chose not to opt in, your data was not collected.
